We made it!!!! So..... its been well over a week and I finally am settled enough to get the Gardner blog a rollin'. Our trip was an adventurous one to say the least. On Sunday the day before we were planned to leave Bill was feeling terrible. We had planned on going to church with Grandma, but when the usual early bird Bill slept until 1:00pm I knew something was wrong. I finally convinced him to go into a quick care to see the doc. After a few hours he was diagnosised with pluerasy. I don't know if I spelled that correctly, but in its an inflamed lung. Our trip was postponed until Tuesday. Tuesday we set out across the Arizona Strip. OH My Goodness no one told us it was going to be so beautiful!!!! The landscape was gorgeous!!! The Navajo Bridge was amazing. We both enjoyed doing a little touring, but the off road walking was too much for Bill and by the time we hit Gallup, New Mexico Bill was in the ER. The combination of hiking around and the elevation was too much for my poor Mississippi boy's lungs. Luckily the CT scan came back clear. The ER in Gallup was the first Gardner Family Prayer.
Our first weekend in Mississippi Bill's parents came. Bill's mother is a nurse and it was so nice to have her here to help out with Bill. He was not feeling well at all and I was clueless as to what to do. I do have a bit of a medical background, but it seems I panic when it comes to loved ones.
After Bill got feeling better our beautiful Golden Retriever, Cain, got sick. A brand new apartment covered with doggie doo!!! Poor Cain had a GI bug. I had doggie messes all over. We I took him to the vet he was much like his daddy and had the doctors a little bit stumped so we had to run every test in the book. After 3 days at the doggie hospital Cain got to come home on two antibiotics and some special food. The day after Cain got sick Bill almost fainted at work. Back to the doctor again!!!! This doctor gave him an inhaler to help air flow through his lungs. With both of my boys back I'm finally starting to see what life in Mississippi is like. Its hot, humid and a bit different. I've never had to fry food so much in my life. One week and I need a new bottle of vegetable oil!!!! I'm enjoying it though and I have a new love for sweet tea! I miss everyone terribly and would like to thank all who helped out with the engagement party! It was so great to have everyone there. I am so greatful to be a Colton and to have such a wonderful family!!!
